I’m about to be entering my 3rd Summer in Long Beach, New York. It’s hard to imagine spending a summer anywhere else. Between the city’s amazing walkability to restaurants, convenience stores, & everything else you could need and the quick walk to the beach, it really is the epitome of stress-free living.
Living in Long Beach, New York is something I think everyone should experience. If you aren’t one of the lucky one’s who get to call Long Beach home, then you should make it a point to visit Long Beach this summer to experience what us Long Beach locals live for.
In the summer, my days in Long Beach are pretty much the same – get outside as much as possible, get to the beach as much as possible, get as tan as possible, and play as much beach volleyball as possible.
If you’re looking for some inpiration on how to spend a day in Long Beach, whether you are visiting or if you are thinking about moving to Long Beach New York, maybe you’ve even starting looking for apartments in Long Beach, here’s a look into what it’s like to live in Long Beach, New York!
A Weekend Day Living in Long Beach, New York.
8am
Morning Walk to Dough Hut – There is nothing better than waking up, soaking up the sun and beautiful beach air and walking to one of Long Beach’s best local coffee shops – Dough Hut. I’m an Iced Coffee year round girl, but if hot coffee is your thing they have that too! …And don’t forget the donuts – There’s something special about the Vanilla Butter Crumb Donuts and French Toast Donuts. If you bought me those I’d be your best friend.
9:30am
Morning Meditation – Starting my day with a quick 5 minute meditation is one of the staples of my mornings. I shared some of my favorite Insight Timer meditations in this post.
10am
Leave the house with my beach bag in tow to head down to the beach. With my Tommy Bahamas beach chair and Sand Cloud Beach Towel, along with all my other beach necessities – my book ( currently Things We Never Got Over ), my Stanley Cup filled with lemon water, and of course sunscreen.
10:10am
Quick stop to Beach Bagel to pick up an Egg Sandwich ( BECSPK IYKYK ) for breakfast at the beach.
10:30am
Posted up on the beach, reading my book and relaxing. For those that know me also know there is rarely a beach day where I am not playing beach volleyball – so during my time on the beach you can bet on me peppering of jumping onto a volleyball court to get some reps in
1:30pm
Head home from the beach – but first have to call in my go-to lunch order from The Bungalow West
1:50pm
Pick up a Buffalo Avocado Salad with Grilled Chicken from The Bungalow West and continue back to my house to get ready for the afternoon.

Post Beach Post Lunch Shower – with my favorite Living Proof Perfect Hair Day haircare products. Between all the sun and the elements that my hair faces every day, Living Proof’s product continue to help keep my hair healthy.
6pm
Meet up with friends for dinner – JR Asian Fusion is out favorite spot in town. If you are looking for the Best Sushi in Long Beach New York, then JRs is the spot for you.
8pm
After dinner drinks at Merrow. If you are looking for a spot in the West End of Long Beach to grab a solid cocktail, then Merrow is for you. It does tend to get crowded pretty early so if you’re lucky enough to snag a bar sear, you should hold onto that for as long as you can!
10pm
Home to get ready for bed and prepare for tomorrow’s beach day! This may be a weekend day – but every day is pretty similar to this when you live in Long Beach, New York.
