Spring, or should I say Mud Season, is here in Vermont. The snow is melting, the temperature is warming, and the sun is trying to shine. My typical winter day in Stowe Vermont is about staying warm and snowboarding, but now that the sun is shining the urge to always be out and about is pretty strong.
From some of my past blogs, I think you all know I’m a pretty big routine person. So I’ve quickly snapped into my Spring time routine up in Vermont and I love it.
For a brief catch up – I spent the past 6 months living in Vermont for the season. I am still a Long Island girl and can’t wait to get back, but I am also patiently awaiting November when I can come back up to Vermont. I could go on forever about this, but there is something special about being able to call two places home, have two groups of incredible friends, and able to pursue two of my favorite hobbies/passions. I really am so incredibly lucky that I even have the opportunity to live the life I live.
So let’s get into it!
7am – Wake Up
Thank the good lord for Daylight Savings and waking up with the sunlight. I am up at 7am and try to get out of the house by 7:30am every day. Morning routine brought to you Cera Ve and Living Proof Dry Shampoo. You would all be crazy if you think I didn’t fill up Stanley Tumbler and head out the door with it in tow.
8am – Stowe Mountain Resort
It may be warming up, but it is still snowboarding season at Stowe. Vail Resorts actually extended the closing date in the 2024 season until April 21st, so there’s a few more weeks to go! I’m trying to take advantage of being so close the mountain every single day and get the most days under my belt for the season. It’s pretty refreshing to get to the mountain early and be one of a few people enjoying the day on the slopes – fun fact, the day I am writing this I may have been 1 of 25 cars in the lot aka I saw literally no one on the mountain. It was a private snowboard session at the best mountain in New England – no complaints there.
P.S. for the snowboaders out there, I’ve been loving my North Face Nuptse Vest for the warmer days over my Goretex Shell.
11am – Woodland Coffee
11am and it’s finally time to start my day – I get to Woodland, order a Dirty Chai, and post up for my afternoon calls. I wouldn’t be caught dead without my AirPods for my calls but also for listening to my music when I’m trying to zone out.
3pm – Stowe Recreation Path
Once I finally shut my laptop, I head over to the Stowe Recreation Path for a midday Hot Girl Walk. There’s something special about walking down the path, seeing the mountain in the distance, and taking in all of the beautiful scenery around you. Recently, I’ve been wearing Hoka Mach 5s and absolutely love them – If you’re looking for a new walking/running shoe you should check these out.
4pm – Late Afternoon Work From Home
I get back to my house around 4pm every day and am right back onto my computer – whether it’s work, this blog, or Instagram there is always something that is on my to-do this. But this time I’m posted up on my deck overlooking the woods and serenity of being in the mountains. Again – shoutout to Daylight Savings Time for the late sunsets, I can happily work outside until 6:45/7pm every single day.
7pm – Dinner
Laptop is officially shut. Rule number one of remote work, close your laptop and keep it shut. Don’t open it until the next day. Whether I am ordering Raja Restaurant for take out or heading back into town for a meal at Doc Ponds, 7pm means that I am no longer working.
