If you look up Stowe, Vermont on Instagram, you’ll likely see tons of Influencer posts in cute winter outfits out in the snow and cold. I promise you they were likely absolutely freezing. Don’t let curated pictures skew your view, make sure you are bundling up when visiting Stowe. Vermont.
There’s a lot to do outside in the winter – downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, hiking. But if you are traveling to Stowe, Vermont and not partaking in all the outdoor activities, you still may find yourself outside. Whether you’re walking through town or exploring the lodge at Stowe Mountain Vermont, you will get exposed to the cold weather. But don’t get me wrong there’s plenty of amazing places you to escape to hide from the cold – restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and adorable shops. We’ll talk about those in a little bit.

Be Ready to Eat Some Amazing Food.
There are some really great restaurants in Stowe, Vermont. I’ll let you all decide what the best restaurants in Stowe, Vermont are, but here are a few of my favorites.
For Breakfast, stop by some of the amazing coffee shops in town. Woodland Bakery is a fan favorite – between their amazing coffee and baked goods, you’re in for an incredible treat. It’s also a great place to get some remote work in if you are a remote worker! Black Cap Coffee & Baking is another great spot – their location also has some little crafts and local goods to buy as well. For local souvenirs from a trip to Stowe, Vermont, you can’t go wrong from picking up something to take back home with you from Black Cap.
For Lunch, Piecasso is a great place to grab a slice of pizza and a beer. On Thursdays they place ski movies, so if your in town for a winter weekend this is a great place to head to for Apres and a delicious lunch. Ranch Camp is another great option for lunch. This burrito spot, that have a lot more than just burritos, is located in the same building at a mountain bike shop. It has great local-Vermont vibes, all while serving up some great food!
For Dinner, there are a ton of options. Doc Ponds may have the best Smash Burger I’ve had in my life – not lying. Their cocktail menu is also incredible. Cork is another great dinner restaurant in Stowe, Vermont. As a Natural Wine Bar, there are always great glasses of wine to be had, but their pasta dishes are fresh and filling. The Gigli is my favorite on the menu!
Watch the Speed Limits in Town!
This is just a warning. The speed limits change pretty drastically as you enter town – and for a good reason! There is a lot of foot traffic in Stowe, Vermont and the 25mph and 35mph speed zones are very warranted, so make sure you adhere to them. Part of what adds to Stowe, Vermont’s charm is it’s small town vibe is large amount of foot traffic that is exploring the local shops and restaurants. Try to be mindful as an out-of-towner when you are driving through Stowe Center – don’t ruin it for everyone!
Leave Time for Exploring the Local Shops.
Make sure you save at least a half day to walk around town. Stowe, Vermont is truly beautiful! The snow lining the streets and covering the buildings just shows off Stowe’s true charm. Along with the restaurants and bars, there are some great shops in Stowe Center. To really grasp to charm, I’d recommend parking and walking from shop to shop. It’s really the best way to take it all in.
