Welcome to Long Beach, New York – the City by the Sea. If you haven’t been to Long Beach, New York yet you are truly missing out on this amazing beach town. Whether you are looking for an outdoor workout or a relaxing outdoor activity, Long Beach New York has some of the best options for you on Long Island.

After all, Long Beach is in incredible active community it’s not shock that there are plenty of outdoor activities you can do this summer. Check out some of the amazing events and activities that you can do in Long Beach, New York this summer.

Summer Concert Series

Every summer the city of Long Beach puts on a weekly concert series on Wednesdays throughout the duration of the summer and it’s completely free. The musical acts rotate and so does the location on the beach! It’s really fun to end the day with the sunset on the beach while listening to some fun music. It is not out of the ordinary to see people crowded on the boardwalk and the beach with their beach chairs to try to get a listen. Bike Rides on the Boardwalk

Grab your beach cruiser and get on the boardwalk! Bike riding is great exercise but bike riding on the Long Beach Boardwalk is an experience that puts you right in the middle of a movies that takes place in a summer beach town, except it’s every day in Long Beach. Bring your won beach cruiser or rent one from one of the local shops. Biking on the Long Beach Boardwalk is an ideal summer outdoor activity in Long Beach New York. If you need a beach cruiser, this is the one that I purchases 2 years ago and love.

Long Beach CleanUp

Want to get outside and give back? Join a Long Beach CleanUp Crew! In 2023 this group picked up over 2,600 pounds of trash off of Long Beach beaches. Signing up to be a volunteer on their website means receiving weekly emails about the location and time of beach cleanups. It’s a great way to get outside and keep out beautiful beaches in great condition. Also, if you volunteer there is typically some sort of incentive that you receive from local businesses for donating your time! For more information, visit Long Beach CleanUp’s website.

East End Volleyball

Ever wonder where the 100’s of volleyball nets on the beachs of Long beach come from? East End Volleyball. This amazing local organization puts on various league nights throughout the week to play beach volleyball. Whether you want to put a team together to play recreation 6’s or want to get more competitive with 4’s, East End Volleyball has a league in Long Beach for you! Even if you don’t want to play, it’s amazing to head down to the boardwalk on week nights to see all the teams playing volleyball! If you want to play volleyball the first thing you’ll need is an AVP optx volleyball. After that check out East End Volleyball’s website for information!

Watch the Sunset From the Beach

Looking for a relaxing outdoor activity in Long Beach, New York? Pack a cooler, grab your beach chair and head down to the beach for the sunset. Grab your friends and make a little hangout out of it! Or if you’re looking for some alone time, grab a book and post up to get lost in some chapters as the sun sets on another day. If you’re looking for a book recomendations – I’m currently obsessed with Lucy Score’s Things We Never Got Over Series. There’s something special about being outside and breathing in the beach air, even if it’s just sitting outside and watching nature around you..

Beach Yoga

If you happen to be out and about early in the morning in Long Beach, New York, you will see yoga classes on the beach. Local yoga studios and local yoga instructors will put together yoga classes that are held on the beach!
