White Sands National Park in new Mexico is stunning.
You may think that you see snow, but no that is white sand in the middle of the desert. This beautiful national park is located in southern New Mexico and covers 275 square miles.

The dunes of gypsum sand create this gorgeous white dunes, from where White Sands National Park gets its name. There’s something so unique about this park, not only is it the largest preserve of gypsum sand dunes but it is not exactly what you think of when you hear the word desert. Seriously, have you seen anything this these white sand dunes? I know I haven’t.
Just getting to walk around and take in all the gorgeous views at this national park is pretty incredible. But that is not all this New Mexico gem has to offer.
On a trip to White Sands National Park, you can bike ride through the dunes, hike, ride sleds down the dunes, back country camp, and even “Dune Drive.” The Dune Drive is a curvy road that takes you through all the scenic white sand dunes. Sign me up for that.
I don’t know about you but I was ready to visit New Mexico, yesterday. The United States has so many gorgeous landscapes. The National Park Service does an incredible job at keeping this park, and the others immaculate.
